Daniel Fischer

Coach Dan was a multi-sport athlete in high school and continued his athletics at the University of Idaho, playing ice hockey.  He always had an interest in weight training and it lead him to pursue strength and conditioning in college.  He completed his undergrad from the University of Idaho with a degree in Sports Science.  While working as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach, he earned a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology.  After becoming a Personal Trainer, Coach Dan found Olympic Weightlifting and knew he wanted to pursue the sport.  Coach Dan started his weightlifting career under the guidance of Michael Conroy.  He spent 3 years under Conroy learning the ins and outs of the sport.  Coach Dan opened Boise Barbell in 2014 and has been working to improve his athletes ever since.  Coach Dan is a National Coach through USA Weightlifting and has lead his athletes to National medals, Masters National Champions and Masters World Champions.  Boise Barbell competes competitively every year for the men's and women's State Championship, with 5 under their belt.  

   Coach Dan is still weightlifting as a Masters athlete, but primary focus is coaching athletes to the National and International level.  Daniel served as the  President of the Idaho Local Weightlifting Committee for 2 years.

Kerry Davis

Mental Performance Coach/Volunteer Weightlifting Coach

Kerry is a life-long athlete and has been teaching movement of all kinds for close to 20 years. She started her athletic experience at young age in gymnastics. She worked her way up to the ranks of Division I college athletics competing for Boise State University. Coach Kerry was a part of a Big West Conference Championship and competed at the NCAA West Regionals Gymnastics Championships. 

BSU is also where she was introduced to working with the barbell. Coach Kerry competed on the club Powerlifting team and earned a Collegiate National Powerlifting Championship. She also started learning the sport of Weightlifting. A gymnastics injury cut her weightlifting training short, but she never forgot the experience. 

Twenty years down the road she returned to Weightlifting. Coach Kerry competes as a Masters athlete. She has been on the national and international competition platform as a Masters athlete. 


Coach Kerry is a USAW Level I Coach. She earned a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise and Sports Psychology. Kerry earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with an emphasis in Health Promotion from Boise State University. Coach Kerry is one of four National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coaches in the state of Idaho. She is also a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher.
